FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What is the difference between the Ultra Shell series and the Cine Pro series?

All four are hybrid rollers that convert into backpacks with the removable shoulder straps, but each series is designed to suit a different way of travelling. The Ultra Shell series is a 4-wheel spinner roller with a built-in moulded honeycomb hard shell frame. The Cine Pro series is a 2-wheel roller, available in two sizes and converted from the Sakk Pack V2. The Carry-On version has a slimmer frame for air travel and carries mirrorless bodies, lenses or de-rigged cinema bodies up to 16cm (6.2") tall. The larger Cine Pro roller has an extreme interior depth of 26cm (10.2"), intentionally designed to hold multiple rigged cinema bodies, spare lenses, a gimbal, a laptop and more, making it a true one-bag workstation to and from set.

What can I fit inside, and is the interior customisable?

The interior holds multiple mirrorless or DSLR setups, spare lenses, de-rigged cinema cameras, or a 200 to 600mm telephoto laid horizontally. The full-length dividers can be rearranged to suit your load-out, and custom full-length dividers are available for 400mm or 600mm primes.

Will my laptop fit?

Yes, up to a 17" laptop. It sits in a dedicated compartment lined with scratchproof bonded nylex. Two expanded mono-mesh zip pockets alongside it hold power banks, cables and other small items.

How does the bag open?

The main compartment unzips fully flat, like a suitcase. Attachable webbing door straps hold the panel at 90° or 180°, so your gear stays put while you work.

Can the roller be converted into a backpack?

Yes. The bag rolls on 2 heavy-duty wheels with a retractable handle, and converts to backpack with the dual-density straps. The straps are fully removable and stow away when you don’t need them.

Is the bag waterproof?

The bag is water-resistant. The 420D ripstop nylon handles rain and splashes well, but it isn’t fully waterproof, as water can still find its way in through the zippers and seams. We don’t recommend leaving it submerged or in heavy downpours for extended periods.

Can I carry a tripod, monopod or light stand?

Yes. The deep side pocket holds the legs of a tripod, monopod or light stand, with sewn-in webbing loops and a quick-release clip to lock it in place. When you’re not carrying a tripod, the same pocket fits a water bottle.

Is the bag airline carry-on compliant?

Yes. The Sakk Pack Carry-On Roller Backpack is sized to fit the overhead storage on most major commercial airlines, so your camera gear, lenses and tech stay with you in the cabin. Airline limits do vary, so we recommend checking your airline’s current size and weight allowance before you fly.
